There are new laws coming into effect in Queensland from 1 September 2024 which mean that knives and other items will be considered controlled items. Sellers must ensure controlled items are not sold to minors under 18 years and this will require age checks, staff instruction, in-store signage, and advertising restrictions. Some knives, such as those made from plastic or with a rounded end, are exempt. Particular controlled items, such as axes, machetes, and swords, cannot be sold to minors and must also be securely stored prior to sale, such as in locked cabinets or tethered so they cannot be removed without staff assistance. Restricted items, such as certain gel blasters which could be mistaken for real firearms, cannot be sold to minors and must be securely stored

The laws apply to all persons, businesses and places which sell impacted items outside Queensland and/or to a person in Queensland. Sellers include all retailers, such as supermarkets, hardware, sporting, outdoor, fishing, craft, discount, convenience, kitchenware and other outlets. It also applies to members of the public or non-business organisations who sell controlled items, such as sporting groups, online sales, second-hand sales, market sellers or events

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The store offers so much value for money, has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years by replacing batteries in tools and devices, where the tool manufacturer just wanted me to throw it away and buy another tool. Your service is awesome, staff very friendly. I can highly recommend your business

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Big shout out to AJ and the others at Adventure Concepts in Maud St for their patience and detailed explanations of solar. Can hardly wait to call you again and ask what the other button is for… 🤣
Solved my campervan power problem and a great deal.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nigel and Kellen did a great job in helping me design and then executing the build of my electrical system for my canopy. Incorporated a few things they were trying for the first time which has worked out perfectly. Highly recommend.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Good service… but not enough to make up for expensive prices. Great little shop, with lots of gear of display, and friendly staff doing a great job while still learning products and expanding product knowledge. Unfortunately though, prices are right on RRP, or just above, which doesn’t really happen much anymore in the age of internet, especially with a large Auto electrician at the end of the same street selling the same products with much more knowledge on offer, and prices that contend with what’s offered online, or within a reasonable range. Hopefully these guys can take this onboard and have a busy store for a long time to come.
